Beachfront

Summary

Beachfront is the sell-side ad platform built for convergent TV and streaming. Leading CTV media sellers, such as AMC, Dish, Paramount, Philo, Spectrum Reach, TelevisaUnivision, and Xumo, use Beachfront's technology to monetize their inventory and serve ads across TV and video screens. Similarly, independent agencies and media buying teams work closely with Beachfront to curate and execute fully-transparent, brand-safe advertising campaigns across CTV, over-the-top (OTT), and online video platforms. Headquarterd in New York City, Beachfront is a 2023 Inc. Magazine Best Workplace, and recipient of the 2023 Digiday TV & Video Award for Best Connected TV Platform. Learn more at beachfront.com.

Curated CTV Private Marketplace Deals

Through its proprietary Private Marketplace (PMP) Library, Beachfront provides Basis users with curated access to premium CTV inventory packages, with deals available by:

  • Seasonal Tentpoles, such as Spring Home & Garden, Back-to-School, and Holiday Shopping

  • Contextual Targets, such as for Food & Cooking, Sports, and Lifestyle

  • Publisher Types, such as Broadcast Networks, FAST Platforms, and Minority-Owned.

  • Sensitive Ads Permitted, including for Cannabis, Alcohol (LDA-Approved), and Political advertising

Deals can be activated within the Basis platform off-the-shelf, or, if you would like to make adjustments and customizations, please reach out to Riley Mulhall (riley@beachfront.com).

Programmatic Guaranteed

Programmatic Guaranteed (PG) is supported on Beachfront.

Here are a few details to be aware of:

  • Buyers do not need to specify a specific seat at this time when negotiating deals on Beachfront. However, for the sake of future-proofing, we have already configured that the advertiser ID is used as the seat ID.

  • PG deals do not supersede exchange-level ad quality rules, and do not ordinarily supersede publisher ad quality rules. Publishers can however set a PG deal to ignore their usual ad quality rules.

  • Advertiser or brand allowing and blocking is handled by advertiser domain. The buyer should inform the seller of the adomain (known as the Brand Domain in Basis) that the ads will use. Ideally, if the ads are already uploaded to Basis and approved by our reviewers, the buyer can check in Basis to see what the configured adomain is. If the ads haven't been uploaded yet and the buyer is unsure about the correctness of the value that they intend to enter, such as whether or not it might be changed by a reviewer, they can open a support ticket to ask.

  • Category blocks are enforced based on the combination of the DSP's declaration of the category plus internal categorization performed by Beachfront. Beachfront's categorization is unknown to us – but this is something that should be considered if a PG campaign is not spending.

As of September 12, 2022, the following publishers on Beachfront are known to strike PG deals:

  • Afrotainment (AfroTV)

  • Freebie TV

  • Future Today

  • Minute Media

  • NFL

  • Olympusat

  • PlayWorks

  • Sootix

  • ToonAvision

  • TV Coins

  • TV One

  • TVU Networks

  • Vevo

  • Show Me Television

  • FlixHouse

Advanced TV Opportunities

In addition to curated CTV PMP packages and PG opportunities, Beachfront offers access to unique cable and broadcast TV inventory, on a non-addressable and/or spot-based basis.

Non-Addressable Inventory

Inventory is available from the likes of Frontier Communications and Canoe, the joint venture owned by Comcast, Cox, and Chater. However, it is not user or device addressable, and geo targeting is limited to US only. Campaign targeting should be adjusted accordingly.

Linear TV Spots

Linear TV is available from Dish Media. It is transacted using PMP only. Because this is a one-to-many medium (one spot can equal many impressions), and Beachfront does not support impression multipliers, the CPMs can be much higher than a normal CTV buy. They often exceed the maximum bid allowed by the DSP. Contact Basis Support to increase the max bid price for the advertiser.

More information from Beachfront is available below.

Sensitive Categories

Beachfront is able to discuss options for setting up deals for sensitive categories, including:

  • Cannabis - PMP Only

  • CBD - PMP Only
