Integrating Google Ads

Basis has a one-way integration with Google Ads, receiving delivery, performance, and spend data so you can easily include Google Ads metrics in your reporting. Basis supports all Google Ads' campaign types, including Performance Max campaigns.

How it Works

To integrate Google Ads:

  1. Before setting up your Basis campaign, add your Google account to Basis.

    1. Go to Main Menu [] > My Settings > Third Party Accounts. See Third Party Accounts for more on adding an account.
  2. When setting up your Basis campaign, add a search line item for each Google Ads campaign. See Adding Line Items to Campaigns for more information. Keep in mind that Google Ads terminology is different from Basis terminology:

  3. Basis Google Ads
    Line Item Campaign
    Ad Ad Group
  4. Map delivery from your Google Ads campaign to a Basis line item. After your campaign goes live, your delivery data appears in Basis. See Search and Social Delivery Data: Quick Reference for more information.

Optimizing Search Terms: You can map more than one Google Ads campaign to a single Basis line item. This lets you optimize for keywords that are performing well in Google Ads by creating new campaigns in Google Ads and mapping the new campaigns to the same Basis line item.
