Integrating Microsoft Advertising

Basis has a one-way integration with Microsoft Advertising, receiving delivery, performance, and spend data so you can easily include Microsoft Advertising metrics in your reporting.

How it Works

To integrate Microsoft Advertising:

  1. Before setting up your Basis campaign, add your Microsoft account to Basis.

    1. Go to Main Menu [] > My Settings > Third Party Accounts. See Third Party Accounts for more information.
  2. When setting up your Basis campaign, add a search line item for each Microsoft Advertising campaign. See Adding Line Items to Campaigns for more information. Keep in mind that Microsoft Advertising terminology is different from Basis terminology:

    Line Item Campaign
    Ad Ad Group
  3. Map delivery from your Microsoft Advertising campaign to a Basis line item. After your campaign goes live, your delivery data appears in Basis. See Search and Social Delivery Data: Quick Reference for more information.

    Basis collects metrics for 30 days after the campaign's end date.

Optimizing Search Terms: You can map more than one Microsoft Advertising campaign to a single Basis line item. This lets you optimize for keywords that are performing well in Microsoft Advertising by creating new campaigns in Microsoft Advertising and mapping the new campaigns to the same Basis line item.​
