Hidden and Unavailable Segments
Third-party providers sometimes retire audience, contextual, and brand protection segments that were previously available. Similar changes can also impact venues for digital out-of-home campaigns. When this happens, the segment usually becomes hidden before becoming unavailable in the system:
-
Hidden segments will soon be retired, but are still operating at the moment. They no longer appear in the list of segments, but tactics that already selected hidden segments will continue to target them. Bidding continues as usual until the hidden segment becomes unavailable.
-
Unavailable segments have been retired by the third-party provider. Tactics can't target these segments anymore, and they do not appear in the list of segments. No bidding occurs on unavailable segments.
We recommend you remove or replace hidden and unavailable segments to make sure campaign performance is not impacted. You can't add hidden or unavailable segments back to a tactic after removing them.
When you edit a tactic that contains a hidden or unavailable segment, you'll see a warning message, and the corresponding segments are marked with a warning symbol. You cannot save changes to a tactic as long as it targets an unavailable segment.
