Making Ad Serving Revisions
When you create a revision, you can modify the ad serving for the line items in the campaign. In most cases, you must make the changes before the revision is approved. Some changes require re-exporting to your ad server.
-
If you are making changes to the ad tags themselves, you can make those changes in an approved plan, and then re-export to the ad server.
-
If you are looking to make changes to line item name or flight dates, for example, then you must create a revision and make the changes in the revision. After that, you can approve the plan and re-export to the ad server.
Any time a campaign is approved and Basis recognizes ad-server-related changes were made, Basis will prompt you to export to the ad server. This includes when you remove line items from approved media plans.
When you create a revision, you cannot make changes to the ad tags in the currently approved media plan. Make your ad serving changes in the revision. Your ad server receives the changes after the revision is approved and you re-export the data.
This table shows the changes you can make, when you can make them, and which require re-exporting:

The different types of ad server modifications for a revised IO include the following:
Procedure | Results |
---|---|
Apply an ad server to a new line item. | A new line item inherits existing ad servers. When the Apply to all new line items is enabled for the ad server, it is automatically applied on the new line item. |
Modify an ad server quantity to the rates of line items. | When the current line item has an existing ad server applied to line item(s), you can modify the quantity. You cannot modify the ad type. You also cannot delete the ad server or remove it from line items. You have the ability to apply the edited ad server to new line items. |
Change the format type of the line item. | When the current line item has an existing format, you can modify the type. You cannot modify the format after exporting to the ad server. |
Remove an approved line item. | Removing an approved line item with an applied ad server requires a re-export. |
Basis automatically calculates the new quantity changes for CPM, Flat Imps, and AV Imps rate types. Basis does not change the other quantity fields.
