Creating a Tactic

Every tactic must have a name, default bid, budget, and location target before you can save it. Before you create a tactic, add DSP line items and groups to your media plan.

Tip: We recommend you create different tactics for each of the individual targeting strategies you plan to use within your campaign.

To create a tactic:

  1. Go to Main Menu [] > Campaigns.

  2. Select a campaign.

  3. Select a media plan.

  4. From a group's Options [], select Add tactic. If you need to create a new group for your tactics, see Creating a Group.

  5. Enter the required tactic details in the Tactic Editor. For more information about all tactic budget and targeting options, see Tactic Editor Overview.

  6. On the General tab:

    • Enter a descriptive Tactic Name.

    • Adjust the tactic's Default Bid, which is the amount the tactic can spend on 1,000 impressions.

    • Enter a Budget and select the budget type: Daily or All time.See General Propertiesand Setting a Group Budget

  8. Select a Start and End date.

  9. Set the Dayparting, the hours of the day your tactic can bid on impressions. See General Properties for more information.

  10. Set the Frequency Cap.

  11. Click Save. The Location tab appears.

  12. Click Add [+] to add at least one location from the Country/Region/City, DMA, ZIP/Postal, Hyperlocal, and Geopolitical tabs for your tactic.

  13. Click Save.
